UWEC empowers local communities to manage Natural resources sustainably and responsibly for long-term economic gain and environmental prosperity. Special emphasis is put on the youth. An approach which has been adopted by UWEC is to inculcate a spirit of volunteerism into the community members especially the youth in order to promote self action to create a difference in environmental management. Often times, people have a notion that proper environment management practices are a sole responsibility of local authorities. |
